The Coffee Bean Rewards Program Terms & Conditions

The Coffee Bean® Rewards Program ("Rewards Program") and The Coffee Bean® Rewards Program Application (the "App") is offered by International Coffee & Tea, LLC doing business as The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® ("Company", "we", or "us"). These Rewards Program Terms and Conditions ("Rewards Program Terms and Conditions") apply only to the Rewards Program offered herein, and not to any other website, mobile app, product, service or program offered by us.
The Rewards Program is available to enrolled members at participating Company locations in the United States of America ("United States"). Points and Rewards (as defined below) accumulated under the Rewards Program are promotional and have no cash value. There are no membership fees associated with the Rewards Program.
1. Eligibility to Enroll in Rewards Program
The Rewards Program is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. This Rewards Program is not targeted towards, or intended to be used by, children under the age of 13. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may only enroll and use the Rewards Program under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Rewards Program Terms and Conditions. By enrolling in the Rewards Program, you represent that you are at least 13 years old.
You may enroll in the Rewards Program if you: (1) are at least 13 years of age; (2) are a resident of the United States; (3) have an active, valid e-mail address; and (4) are a human being.
2. Joining the Rewards Program
You can enroll in the Rewards Program by logging-in to an existing account in the App or on coffeebeanrewards.com, or by registering for the Rewards Program by creating an account on the App or on coffeebeanrewards.com ("Account").
To create an Account through the App, you must (1) download the App, (2) provide a first and last name, (3) provide an active and valid email address, (4) provide your birthday, and (5) provide a password. Providing a phone number is optional.
To create an Account through coffeebeanrewards.com, you must (1) provide a first and last name, (2) provide an active and valid email address, (3) provide your birthday, and (4) provide a password. Providing a phone number is optional.
You may also have the option to enroll in the Rewards Program through other third-party sites (i.e. Facebook® or Apple®) account. If you enroll in the Rewards Program using these sites, you will be subject to those third-party sites’ terms and conditions and such sites will transfer personal information in accordance with those terms and conditions to the Company for creation of the Rewards Program account.
Your Account as it is related to the Rewards Program is your "Rewards Program Account".
3. Earning Points
After registering and verifying an Account and completing your first Qualifying Purchase (as defined below), you will be eligible to earn five (5) points ("Points") for every full dollar you spend (after any applicable discounts but before taxes), rounded down or up for every half dollar to the nearest dollar, at any participating The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® retail location in the United States, subject to certain exclusions. For example, if you spend $6.15 on Qualifying Purchase(s) (as defined below), you will earn thirty (30) Points; if you spend $6.85 on Qualifying Purchase(s) (as defined below), you will earn thirty-five (35) Points. You will not earn Points for purchases of gift cards, charitable donations, delivery fees, taxes, or tips.
A "Qualifying Purchase" is a purchase of at least one dollar ($1.00).
To earn Points, you must scan, at the time of purchase, the QR code that is generated in the App by pressing the "Check-In" button in the "Scan" page of the App. Subject to the preceding sentence, Points earned will be posted to your Rewards Program Account not later than twenty-four (24) hours after the applicable Qualifying Purchase. The Points available at any time in your Rewards Program Account will equal the aggregate amount of Points earned less the aggregate amount of Points converted into Rewards (the "Available Point Balance").
Points earned from the same transaction may only be posted to one (1) Rewards Program Account. All Points earned from the same transaction will be posted to the Rewards Program Account associated with the QR code that is provided at the time of purchase.
4. Redeeming Points for Rewards
Points earned shall be redeemed for free items, such as modifiers or drinks, (“Rewards”) at participating stores in the United States. The Point redemption for use in participating stores is located below:
- Customize any drink for free for 75 points
- Free bakery item for 200 points
- Free brewed coffee or tea for 275 points
- Free handcrafted beverage of your choice for 425 points
5. Promotional Offers
Company may, from time to time, post certain promotional offers ("Promotional Offer(s)") to your Rewards Program Account. Promotional Offers will be subject to the terms and conditions of each respective Promotional Offer, including, without limitation, Qualifying Purchases, and applicable expiration dates.
6. Redemption of Points, Rewards, and Promotional Offers
You may not redeem Points, Rewards or Promotional Offers for cash, except as required by law. To redeem Points, Rewards or Promotional Offers, you must scan, at the time of purchase, the QR code that is generated in the App for that Reward or make a purchase through the App utilizing the Points, Rewards or Promotional Offer code. Each time you redeem a Point, Reward, or Promotional Offer, Company will remove it from your Rewards Program Account.
You may use only one (1) Reward or Promotional Offer per transaction. You may not use Points or Rewards to satisfy any purchase requirement of a Promotional Offer. For example, if you have received a buy-one-get-one-free Promotional Offer, you cannot use a Reward for one (1) item and then receive one (1) item free as part of the Promotional Offer.
7. Expiration of Points
Unless otherwise noted, Points in your Account will expire, if no transaction is made in the last 180 days from the date of the last purchase. The Points in your Account will get extended for another 180 days when a transaction is made.
8. Reward Program Tiers
Currently, there are three (3) tiers within the Rewards Program ("Tiers"), as determined by the cumulative number of Points earned within a calendar year without subtracting your Rewards Point Balance ("Cumulative Points Balance").
When joining the Rewards Program, you are automatically enrolled in the Purple Tier. Once you earn 2500 Points during a calendar year, you will be moved to the Silver Tier and once you earn 5000 Points during a calendar year, you will be moved to the Gold Tier. Once in the Silver or Gold Tier, you must earn the respective qualifying points during each calendar year to remain in that Tier. If you do not earn the required Points during a calendar year your Rewards Program Account will drop to a lower Tier at the beginning of the next calendar year (i.e. Rewards Program Accounts in the Gold Tier which do not meet the Point requirement will be reset to the Silver or Purple Tier and Rewards Program Accounts in the Silver Tier which do not meet the Point requirement will be reset to the Purple Tier).
The Tiers, respective Points needed to be included in a Tier and Tier benefits are listed below.

*The complimentary handcrafted beverages will be provided upon reaching the necessary Tier and are automatically preloaded into your Account. A behind-the-bar beverage excludes pre-packed drinks.
No matter which Tier you are in, you will be eligible for monthly perks (subject to additional terms and condition) which will vary by month and will be in the discretion of the Company.
9. Bonus Point Offers
Company, in its discretion, may run Promotions that will give you the opportunity to earn Points when you complete certain activities (“Bonus Point Offers”). Bonus Point Offers will be subject to the terms and conditions of each respective Bonus Point Offer, including, without limitation, Qualifying Purchases, and applicable expiration dates. Any Points earned under a Bonus Point Offer will not be counted towards Reward Program Tiers.
10. Linked Gift Cards
You may link one (1) or more gift cards to your Account via the App. You can manage your gift cards through the App or through coffeebeanrewards.com.
11. Unauthorized Access or Use
Company is not responsible for any unauthorized access of your Rewards Program Account or any unauthorized use of any Point, Reward, or Promotional Offer in your Rewards Program Account. If you believe any such unauthorized access or use has occurred, you may notify us at coffeebean.com/contact-us. Upon receipt of such notification, Company will help you set up a new account and transfer your existing Points and Available Rewards Balance (if any). Company will not reinstate Points, Rewards or Promotional Offer that were redeemed by an unauthorized user of your Rewards Program Account.
12. Balance Inquiry and Transaction History
You can view and track your Points balances and available Rewards on the App. You can also check the purchase transactions for which you earned Points on the App.
13. Opt Out of Rewards Program
You may opt out of the Rewards Program by contacting Company at info@coffeebean.com.). Once you have opted out of the Rewards Program, you may not earn additional Points or Rewards in your Rewards Program Account, and the Available Points Balance and outstanding Rewards in your Rewards Program Account will expire immediately.
14. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties
Company only shares your personal identification information in accordance with Company's Privacy Policy.
15. Amendments and Termination of the Rewards Program
Company has the right at any time, with or without giving you prior notice, to:
- change, modify and/or end or cancel the Rewards Program and/or any specific Reward;
- change any Reward or other Rewards Program benefit we offer;
- change the requirements for earning a particular Reward;
- change the time you have in which to earn a particular Reward;
- change any other feature of the Rewards Program; and/or
- suspend or terminate any Rewards Program Account and/or your participation in the Rewards Program.
Any changes or modifications are effective immediately upon posting to the www.CoffeeBeanRewards.com website, and/or, The Coffee Bean® Rewards Application. Your continued use of the Rewards Program confirms your acceptance of these Rewards Program Terms and Conditions, and any subsequent changes or modifications. For that reason, you should review these Rewards Program Terms and Conditions frequently to understand the applicable Rewards Program Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to the Rewards Program Terms and Conditions, you must stop participating in the Rewards Program.
If we end the Rewards Program, Rewards you have earned but not used will expire on the end date, and you may not redeem any Rewards or use any credits after the end date.
16. General Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Your Rewards Account is personal to you and may not be sold, transferred or assigned to, or shared with family, friends or others, or be used for commercial purposes. You may have only one (1) Rewards Program Account.
As a part of the Rewards Program, Company will send you transactional, informational, promotional messages and/or offers. These communications may happen in the form of push notifications through the App, email, and/or any other ways you may have selected when you enrolled in the Rewards Program. If your contact information changes, or if you wish to change your contact information or the method by which we send you messages, please log into your Rewards Account and update your contact information or preferences. You may also opt out of receiving these communications by changing the "Notification Preferences" on the "Account Settings" page that you can access by pressing the "More" button.
These Rewards Program Terms and Conditions complement and incorporate by reference the App's Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between these Rewards Program Terms and Conditions and the App's Terms and Conditions, the App's Terms and Conditions will control.
